Formulat Costing and Product Cost Analysis
Make confident pricing decisions by understanding what your formula really costs.
Costing your formula can sometimes be challenging.
How do you work out what your formula actually costs in each bottle or unit?- What margin should you allow for manufacturing, wholesale, or retail?
- What happens if you change the pack size, fill volume, or density?
- How do ingredient sourcing, supplier pricing, and minimum order quantities impact your final cost?
This fee-for-service offering is designed to help you understand the true cost structure of a specific product or formula, so you can make informed commercial and pricing decisions.
The service includes an initial brief overview meeting to review the formula at a high level and confirm scope, followed by independent costing work completed by pH Factor.
A follow-up meeting is then scheduled to walk through the completed costing, assumptions, and key cost drivers.
This service is suitable if you are:
- Preparing quotes or pricing models
- Assessing product or formula viability
- Reviewing margins for different pack sizes or formats
- Planning retail, wholesale, or manufacturing costs
- Comparing ingredient sourcing or formulation options
This booking is for costing and commercial analysis only and does not include formulation development or reformulation.

Marketing Copy, Label & INCI Review

- Getting your marketing copy, product label, and INCI list right can be complex.
- Are your claims accurate and supportable?
- Does your label include everything required and avoid what should not be there?
- Is your INCI list correct, in the right order, and aligned with the finished formula?
- Could your wording or claims expose your brand to regulatory, retailer, or consumer risk?
This fee-for-service offering is designed to help protect your brand by reviewing your marketing copy, product labelling, and INCI listings to ensure they are accurate, appropriate, and fit for market.
The service focuses on alignment with cosmetic regulatory expectations and industry best practice for claims, ingredient declaration, and on-pack communication. It is suitable for brands preparing to launch, updating packaging, submitting artwork for print, or reviewing existing products prior to retail or distribution.
The service includes an initial briefing meeting to review the product and scope of materials, followed by independent review work completed by pH Factor. Written feedback and recommendations are then provided outlining required or suggested changes to reduce risk and improve clarity and compliance.
This service is provided on a minimum 5-hour basis and is charged as fee-for-service work. It does not include copywriting, artwork design, or regulatory approvals unless quoted separately.
